On November 16, 2024, Yuantian Bio's 300-ton enzymatic hydrolysis (rPTA) production line was officially put into operation, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was officially opened at the Tianjin Binhai Production Base. The official start-up of the 300-ton production line marks another milestone for Yuantian Bio. On this basis, the company will be committed to stable and continuous production, while practically planning the process design and implementation of the 1,000-ton production line.

Dr. You Shengping, founder and CEO of Yuantian Bio, said: "The official start-up of the 300-ton production line is inseparable from the concerted efforts of the heads of various departments, the hard work of all employees, and the strong support of Yuantian Bio's shareholders and customers. Our next goal is to build a 5,000-ton production line."

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Yuantian Bio's partners, accompanied by Dr. You Shengping and others, visited the 300-ton production line production base. Yuantian Bio currently produces more than 30 tons of rPTA and has completed downstream customer verification for multiple application scenarios (recycled clothes, shoes, bedding, plastic bottles, etc.). More than 20 tons of rPTA products have been shipped, with revenue of hundreds of thousands of RMB, and there are sales orders for more than 2,000 tons of rPTA products ( Source: Yuantian Bio ).

Yuantian Bio is an innovative enterprise focusing on the enzymatic regeneration and industrialization of waste PET plastics. It was established in 2022. Its core team members are from the Joint State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering of Tianjin University .

Research published in the academic journal Sustainability points out that the pollution and waste output generated by the textile industry are staggering, with inefficient waste management and excessive consumption patterns standing as core pain points. Statistics show that 120 million tons of used textiles are discarded worldwide every year, yet less than 0.5% get recycled; the vast majority end up in landfills or incineration plants. Although mechanical recycling is currently the mainstream textile treatment method with relatively low costs, it struggles to process mixed fibers contaminated with dyes, coatings, finishing agents and other pollutants. Against this backdrop, Boston Consult...
